The diagram illustrates the process of recycling glass bottles.

Overall, there are 3 main stages in this process, commence with the collection of waste glass bottles and culminate in the sale of newly manufactured bottles.

In the first stage of the process, wasted glass bottles are collected at a specific point called collection point. After that, these bottles are delivered by a truck to a glass treatment plant where they undergo further processes.

In the next stage of the process, glass bottles are washed by high-pressure water in order to remove any impurities, the bottles are sorted according to colour into clear , green and brown bottles before being transferred to a glass factory. There, these bottles are crushed into small pieces and heated at a high temperature ( between 600 and 800 degrees celsius) in a furnace to create molten glass. This molten glass is mixed with new liquid glass and then poured in a shaped mould to create a new bottle. In the final stage, these bottles are filled with liquid, and packaged and delivered to supermarket, ready for sale.
