The bar chart illustrates data on the percentage of British adults of different age brackets using the Internet daily during two time periods: 2003 and 2006.
Overall, it is evident that there was a general downward trend in using the network across the age groups as they aged, albeit to varying degrees. It is also noteworthy that the group aged 16-24 had the highest percentage of internet usage.
In greater detail, adults in the UK, having age at 16-24 years old, showed the most internet users throughout the years, exceeding 80%. However, this age group initially had the highest percentage, at almost 100%. Then, in the following years, the percentage of the group fluctuated and decreased significantly, from around 75% to less than 20% at the end of the period.
Furthermore, as they aged, the percentages across the age brackets dropped gradually.
On the other hand, in 2003, the group aged 65+ initially had the lowest popularity in network consumption at under 5%. However, it rose slightly, to 20%. Similarly, the group aged 55-64 increased significantly, from under 40% to approximately 50%. In addition, the remaining two age brackets had similar patterns, reaching its peak at 80% in 2006.
