Nowadays, the number of overweight people is increasing compared to last years. Although there are many reasons that contributed to this issue, eating disorder and inactive lifestyle are the most important main causes. This essay will discuss these reasons of this problem and then describe possible impacts.
To begin with, a fundamental reason why people are overweight is eating habits. Busy work-schedule, long working hours, as well as traffic congestions make people’s life challenging and exhausting. In order to complete their assignment or work, they do not prefer to prepare meals which take more time than ordering something that are usually junk food or fast food. Besides, the same situation remains applicable for dinner as well because at the end of the day they might not have enough energy to prepare dinner for themselves. Another factor that causes people to become fat is inactive lifestyle that stem from lack of time and energy. Due to the working conditions, people can not spent any time for sport pursuits not only outdoors but also indoor activities that leads them to gaining weight day by day.
On the other hand, becoming overweigh has important negative influences on people’s lives. The most profound effect of this epidemic is serious illnesses. The scientists from TU Delft University in the Netherlands claim that if person is non-active who does not go for a walk for 40 minutes at least or do any sports for 20 minutes, he/she will 90% possibilities to have heart attack as her/his veins are closed by fats. Another negative effect of being overweight is lack of confidence which brings about to keep social distance between fat people and their friends and relatives. For example, plump people are always complaining about their body shapes and they want to conceal their body by wearing large black clothes because they are always exposed to jokes related to weight.
In conclusion, even though people have had complicated and challenging lifestyle which leads to gain weight, they should do some exercise and participate in social activities for their mental and physical health.
