However, this progress has also resulted in detrimental environmental issues, prompting a debate on whether the responsibility for environmental preservation lies with the government or with individuals. In my opinion, I support the former view.

It is undeniable that the government bears the primary responsibility for addressing environmental concerns. To begin with, it is essential for authorities to formulate and implement policies and regulations aimed at controlling the production and consumption of harmful fuels. This could entail levying higher taxes on environmentally damaging fuels and incentivizing the public to adopt eco-friendly energy sources in place of fossil fuels. Furthermore, the government should allocate financial resources to promote the development and utilization of advanced technologies that prioritize environmental sustainability. This strategic approach not only fosters global economic growth but also ensures that it is achieved without compromising the well-being of the environment.

While governmental actions are crucial in combating environmental issues, individuals also have a role to play in environmental preservation. Firstly, individuals must actively reconsider their lifestyles to minimize their carbon footprint, thereby contributing to the improvement of air quality. This may involve embracing alternative modes of transportation, such as public transit or bicycles, and reducing excessive electricity consumption. Moreover, individuals can support environmentally conscious industries and abstain from patronizing companies that have a detrimental impact on the environment. By making informed choices as consumers, individuals can exert pressure on corporations to prioritize environmentally sustainable practices.

In conclusion, while the government is undeniably responsible for instituting large-scale environmental policies and regulations, individual actions also significantly impact the environment. Thus, a collaborative effort between the government and individuals is essential in ensuring effective environmental preservation for future generations.
