The pie charts give a breakdown of the quantity of students at an adult education centre enrolling in numerous courses provided in 1985 and the present year.
Overall, the proportion of students signing up for morden languages was much higher than that of fitness and dance, art, local history, cookery, and music appreciation in 1985. Meanwhile, in the current year, the local history and music appreciation has been removed. Instead, we see the addition of IT course which most popular among students.
In 1985, the modern languages and fitness and dance courses accounted for over one-fifth of the number total of participants, at around 24% and 22% respectively. Besides, the proportion of students engaging in Art courses was about 17% which was double the figure for music appreciation.Additionally, cookery and local history attracted the relatively similar quantity of students, at approximately 14% and 15% in turn.
In the present year, the most popular course is IT with a quarter of participants, which has been added after the remoral of local history and music appreciation has been eliminated. Besides, we have seen the percentage of students enrolling in Art and modern languages has dropped moderately, by 2% and 7% in turn. Especially, there was only course has increased the quantity of students engaging in was cookery, rise by 5%. In contrast, 22% students enrolling in fitness and dance course still remain unchanged.
