The matter at hand is quite interesting, and it demands thorough exploration of all aspects related to it. Regarding my take on this topic, I strongly agree that a sportsperson deserves high wages. Obviously, there are several reasons, which reinforce my viewpoint. First and foremost, the expenditures incurred on their training are prohibitively high as compared to other professionals, so after substantial personal investments, they are entitled to lucrative benefits. From a personal perspective, I have witnessed the journey of one of my cousins, who faced substantial financial constraints regarding professional wrestling competitions. From his food to training equipment, initially, the costs were borne by his family, and later on, he was compelled to approach a loan agency for managing his finances. On the other hand, a teacher or a gardener do not require comprehensive monetary resources for their skill development, further collaborating my stance. Thus, as the training regimen for an athlete is costly, and awarding high salaries to them is justified.
The critics also posit that other professionals also exhibit skills, so they raise objections on the preferential payments dole out to athletes. In their arguments, they fail to recognize the basic fact that sportspersons earn rewards by demonstrating exceptional skills, which are usually appreciated by the audience, applauding their efforts. Most importantly, they actively participate in revenue generation, and T.V channels earnings depend on them. Therefore, since people at large express their approval by watching sporting games that contribute to revenue generation, which is then distributed among athletes. Hence, the viewpoints of critics do not hold any merit, as athletes earn that special treatment through their dedication, commitment, and excellence.
To conclude, extensive training expenses relating to athletes validate such treatment meted out to them. The opponents fails to comprehend the subtle difference between skills possessed by various professionals. It is imperative to appreciate efforts proportionately.
