Couples tied the knot with a promise to be with each other through thick and thin, however, a lot of married couples these days end their relationship through divorce. In this essay, I will look at some causes and effects of divorse the couple and to the children involved.
There is no doubt that every couple encounter chalenges in their marriage. Some may manage to go through those problems and manage to resolve them together. There are also other couples who cannot resolve their problems and some differences and resort to ending their relationship.
A number of reasons causes divorce among couples. It could be individual differences, in-laws intervention in family affairs, domestic violence and mental issues, financial issues, infidelity, and others. The effects of divorce may also be positive if the cause is detrimental to emotional, mental and physical will being of both individuals and the children involve. But we cannot also ignore the negative effects of such decisions to the family in general, especially to the children involve. It may cause insecurities and shame to the children which could have negative impact on their mental and social lives. I have seen children of broken families who are socially isolated, have low self-confidence and who performs low in schools.
We cannot deny the fact that there will always be couples who cannot resolve problems if they keep on living together as a married couple. It would be best to know each other well before engaging in a marriage to avoid problems that may lead to divorce.
