In recent times, it has become increasingly common for teenagers to commit a crime, particularly in urban communities. While this shift can be attributed to several factors, I firmly believe that there are a number of measures that can be taken by both the government and parents.
The rise in the crime rate committed by younger generations is driven by various reasons. One of the primary ones lies in computer and mobile games. This is because a majority of teenagers spend a considerable amount of their time playing video games which are full of fighting and violent episodes, resulting in shaping aggressive behavior in children’s attitudes. As a result of such negative behavioral change, they are highly likely to drop out the classes and neglect their academic tasks which can lead to breaking the law. Take my country of Uzbekistan, where an increasing number of teenagers play these kinds of games such as PUBG Mobile, Counter-Strike, and GTA.
Tackling the issue of crimes among children requires a collaborative approach from both parents and the government. At a personal level, it is imperative for parents to control their children’s screen time. This can be accomplished by setting the exact amount of mobile or computer time and checking their technological device on a daily basis. Doing so can make a big difference when it comes to preventing younger children from dedicating prolonged time to technological devices. On a national scale, countries play a crucial role in resisting the production of violent games. This can be achieved through strict laws in an attempt to warn the game manufacturers. In conclusion, although today’s video games can be considered one of the main reasons for increasing the crime rate among teenagers, I am of the opinion that parental control and stiff rules by the government can mitigate this problem.
