Nowadays, with the development of technology, many modern games are produced. It is said that traditional games are more beneficial than modern games in helping children develop their abilities. From my viewpoint, I strongly agree with this statement.
Many people prefer modern games because of their interesting design, which can attract attention immediately. These kinds of virtual games can offer children the opportunity to freely design their virtual world, which fosters their creativity. This can help children in an age where each person’s personality is valued. Besides, there are many games designed to help students learn subjects and improve their knowledge after school time. These games require students to think quickly to compete against opponents or overcome challenges, which enhances our problem-solving skills. However, spending too much time online can have many effects on their health and cause some problems like obesity or isolation. Addiction and physical health problems are recorded in youngsters, which can cause long-term issues.
With conventional games, meanwhile, children can experience a more well-rounded development. Children can improve their physical health and reduce the percentage of having mental health problems at this age because all games are organized outside. Moreover, games like hide-and-seek require children to interact with others and solve problems quickly can enhance their problem-solving skills and cooperation. Furthermore, participating in traditional games like chess, puzzles, and building blocks promotes concentration, leadership skills, and creativity. For instance, some surveys have recorded that children who attend traditional games
seem to be more intelligent than others.
In conclusion, modern games bring many positive aspects to children’s development, but also have many negative sides. Meanwhile, conventional games provide a well-rounded developmental experience, nurturing physical health, social interaction, and creativity.
