Regarding the sports having an increasing trend, football witnessed linear growth and always remained above 40 percent, surpassing the other sports. Swimming had fluctuations in the range of 20 to 30 percent and reached its highest at 28 percent in 2000. Rugby went up and down by around 20 percent but remained at its lowest in 2000, the smallest compared to the five remaining sports.
Concerning the lesser popular sports, interest in snooker has remained low since 1995, leading to a decrease of nearly 10 percent. Similar to snooker, interest in tennis plunged to 20 percent, a figure that remained the same in both 2000 and 2005. Golf had small changes during this period, but the proportion of people who liked this sport remained above 20 percent.
