In recent years, some countries came up with a law that limits the working hours for employees due to several reasons. While some believe that the benefits of applying this law is rewarding, some argue that this law may include drawbacks. In this essay, I will cover both viewpoints supported by examples and evidence and draw my personal opinion.
Regarding the advantage of applying rules to limit working hours, the benefits are enormous since employees will be motivated to complete their daily tasks in a certain timeframe instead of leaving it for late hours. Furthermore, this law will allow workers to have work-life balance in which they can enjoy their time with family and friends. By doing so, they will also be able disconnect after work hours and get back the next day energized and ready to kick-off their day. Additionally, this rule will restrict managers who usually take advantage of their workers, and let them stay in the office for late hours, which would eventually lead to burnout, which include several consequences such as: resigning from work and generating low quality of work, and suffering from mental health problems.
In a nutshell, I firmly think that there are no potential drawbacks of applying such rule. In fact, the positive impact of following this law is huge, in which the employees time is respected and highly appreciated as well as their considering their mental health which in return, will bring back positive results for the companies as employees are treated in a respectful way.
