The two maps show the main changes that have taken place in a harbor called Porth since 2000.
In 2000, the Porth Harbor had far fewer amenities. The main road led to two car parks as well as the lifeboat in the south-east. In this part of the harbor, there was a big castle, which fell into disuse, and a public beach just adjacent to it. In the north, there were showers and toilets near the other car park, and a Marina for private yachts. Finally, there was a dock for passenger ferries and a route to another public beach.
Fast-forward to the present, the harbor has seen major developments. The old castle has been transformed into a hotel, while the public beach next to it has been privatized and is now only available for people staying in the hotel, with new cafes and shops built to the east of the lifeboat. Other developments include the introduction of showers and toilets near one of the car parks, as well as the relocation of the Marina to where fishing boats used to be. The last big change was the addition of a second dock next to the old one.
Overall, the harbor in question has witnessed substantial improvements, ranging from various facilities such as toilets and showers, to the conversion of a disused castle into a hotel. The building of a new dock has also enhanced its capacity to accommodate more passenger ferries.
