The table shows data about spending on three items categories in five different countries in 2002.
Overall, the category of food, drinks, and tobacco had the higher percentage than others. In contrast, people in the five countries spent a smaller number on leisure/education, compared to clothing/footwear category.
The largest proportions of food/drinks/tobacco were seen in Ireland, with 28.91%, and Turkey, with 32.14%, where both countries had more than 20% in each proportion, while Italy, Spain, and Sweden spend for only 16.36%, 18.80%, and 15.77%, respectively. Whereas in terms of clothing & footwear category, all the countries spend lower than 10%. The highest number was at 9.00%, which was spent by Italy, and the Sweden spent only at 5.40%. meanwhile, Ireland, Spain, and Turkey had a similar percentage, averaged at about 6.5%.
Lastly, the proportion for leisure/education category was no more than 5% among the countries. The smallest number was Spain, with only 1.98%, followed by Ireland at 2.21%. Italy and Sweden showed slightly different in their proportion, with 3.20% and 3.22%, respectively. And Turkey represented around 4.35%.
