It is readily apparent that almost all activities exhibited an upward trajectory. However, a minor drop is noticeable for reading.
In 1980, the most popular activity was playing sports, accounting for 60%. This is followed by a gradual rise to its peak of under 70% by the end of the period. In contrast, the ratio of elderly people surfing the internet had the lowest level of participation at only 5% at the beginning of the period, which moderately grew to below 20% in 2000, reaching exactly 50% in the present. Regarding theatre, it saw a slight decrease from exactly 50% to around 48% over the given time frame.
On the other hand, the figure of people who participate in hiking was at 20%, which continued to rise and reaching 80% in the given years. Moreover, the proportion of reading gradually decreased from 30% to 20% between 1980 and 2000, which saw a remarkable escalation to nearly 50% in the final year.
