The illustrations depict the alterations that occurred in the Sawry suburb over the period from 1920 to 2020. Looking from an overall perspective, it can be seen that the location underwent a complete transformation over a one hundred year period. The most noticeable change is the transformation of the rural area into a commercial neighborhood with several major infrastructure projects.
Firstly, the Tulebag Bos factory in the northwest was converted into a Business centre consisting of three modern buildings. Prestwich High School on the outskirts of the town was relocated and extended in the south not far from Miller’s lake. On the site of the school a Lonoco Fuel Station was erected. Several new residential units of different sizes were built in the town. Generally, the green zone underwent a remarkable transformation – a lot of trees were chopped down and replaced by commercial buildings or houses.
Secondly, a side road from Oak avenue was further developed leading to a coastline area. A new bridge was constructed over the Elmwood river, connecting both sides of the district.
