The given pie charts illustrate the data about proportion of electricity production by fuel source in France in 1990 and 2010. Overall, what stands out from the charts is that natural gas and coal were dominant source for energy production, in contrast nuclear power then replaced with them and become main source.
Initially, in 1990 Coal and Natural gas were the main sources for energy production with 28%, while the Hydro power was the least used to produce energy at 6%. Oil on the other hand was also, one of the main sources for production of energy at 22%. Nuclear power source, which was one of the least used source with only 17%.
In terms of 2010, Nuclear power increase significantly and became the superior energy source compared to others while the formers ones declined. Coal and Natural gas decreased to just 13% and 4%, respectively. Oil and Hydro power also saw a potential decline to 13% and 2%, respectively.
