The chart illustrates the rate of teachers of different genders in six types of educational settings in the United Kingdom in 2010. Overall, it is noteworthy that in Nursery and primary schools, the percentage of female teachers highly outweighs that of males. Furthermore, the rate in terms of gender in college lecturer was almost the same.
To begin with, in pre-schools, the majority of a teacher were women and only about 5% were men. Likewise, in primary schools, female teachers were dominant, reaching approximately 85%. Hence, in some education institutes, females are more preferred to a teachers than males. In contrast, in universities, the rate of male lecturers was double that of females, with about 70%.
When it comes to secondary schools, the proportion of males comprised about 43% while females constituted almost 47%. Moreover, in college, the proportion of males and females was almost the same. Lastly, in private training institutes, males tend to excel than females in the number of teachers.
