Overall, most owners used their phones to make calls throughout the three years. While the percentage decreased in 2010, it remained the most widely used feature compared to others.
In 2006, making calls had the highest percentages, at 100%. In the following years, 2008 and 2010, although the percentages decreased slightly, it continued to be the most widely used by mobile phone owners. Meanwhile, figures for taking photos and sending and receiving text messages followed an upward trend, they were two-thirds and just over 70%, and in 2010 these two features increased to 76% and 79%, respectively. Turning to the percentages of playing games and playing music, they both represented just over one-fifth in 2006 and the former went up to 42 % and the latter was 18% in 2008. At the end of the period, the former witnessed a decline of 1%, with the latter climbing gradually to 26%.
In 2006, searching the internet and recording video had the lowest percentages of usage, with no available data. In 2008 the figure for the first one accounted for 41 % of the total, while that for the second one was just over one-tenth. However, in 2010, there was a significant increase in the usage of these features, with percentages of 73% and 35%, respectively.
