Overall, vegetables and fruit utilize the most amount of water, which far exceeded their counterparts. Additionally, vegetables led the second place in the total income, whereas fruits holded the first position.
Looking first at the figure for the percentage of water usage. It is clear that in 2004, vegetables consumed the most water, at 46%, followed by fruit, at 28%. In addition, dairy and cereal used under 15% of the amount of water, with 8% for the former, and 12% for the latter. In terms of rice and livestock, these two categories amounted to the same value of water consumption, at 30%.
Moving onto the remaining data, despite using the most amount of water, vegetables hold the second place in terms of generating income, at 33%, while fruit was the most profitable, contributing 42% in total. The income taken up by Cereal was slightly higher than that of Dairy, 13% compared to 8%. Moreover, Livestock and Rice exhibited the most minor value of 3% and 1%, respectively.
