The given bar graph depicts the top ten countries in terms of electricity production and consumption in 2014.
Overall, China and the United States had significant levels of production and consumption. In general, except for Germany, the other nations had higher production levels than consumption levels.
Noticeably of all, China recorded the highest figures for both production and consumption, around 5,398 billion kWh and 5,322 billion kWh, respectively. In fact, it was the only country that exceeded 5,000 billion kWh threshold. Moreover, the United States ranked second, producing and consuming roughly 4,099 billion kWh and 3,866 billion kWh, respectively.
Additionally, all the remaining nations had higher output than consumption. Russia, Japan, India, Canada, France, Brazil, and the Republic of Korea had production levels of almost 1,057, 936.2, 871, 618.9, 561.2, 530.7 and 485.1 billion kWh and consumptions around 1,038, 856.7, 698.8, 462.9, 449.5, 462.9, and 449.5 billion kWh. The lowest electricity producer was Germany, which produced the least amount but consumed more than its production capacity. The amounts were 526.5 and 582.5 billion kWh, respectively.
