This chart provides information about Southland’s three major trade commodities within 25 years, from 2000 to 2025. International tourism sector experienced an increase, while the other two sectors fluctuated and decreased by the time.
From 2000 to 2025 the amount of foreign sales of international tourism is getting bigger. In 2000, the foreign sales were recorded at 8,1 billion. Then it grows by 0.9 billion in 2024. Moreover, it is predicted to expand by 1 billion in 2025.
On the contrary, the dairy products industry looks unsteady. There was a significant rise by 3 billion from 7 billion in 2000 to 10 billion in 2024. Furthermore, it is estimated to decrease by 0.3 billion in 2025. The recorded export volume is 9.2 billion. In addition, the volume of shipping overseas of meat products always decreases every year. Compared to 2000 and 2024, there was a reduction of 0.25 billion, from 6 billion to 5.25 billion. Meanwhile, in 2025 there will be a decline from 5.25 billion to 5 billion.
