In 1995, Shipsmount’s layout was relatively simple. There was a factory located near the riverside, while the city centre was accessible to vehicles. The station was placed in the south of the centre, and a church and several houses could be found in the east. There are still natural forest both located in the westnorthern and eastsouthern area.
By 2010, the area had been significantly redeveloped. The factory was removed and replaced by a shopping centre and football stadium. Furthermore, apartment blocks were constructed in the north, an airport and skyscrapers appeared in the eastern area. In addition, the city centre was converted into a pedestrian-only road, another station and pub were built in the northern area of the centre.
