The line graph illustrates the percentage of total exports of clothing in China, European Union, Asia(without China) and the USA over a 14-year period between 2000 and 2014.
Overall, the proportion of clothing exported in almost regions decreased considerably, while the figure for China experienced a sharp rise throughout the given period. In 2000, European Union was the dominant area exporting clothing among 4 regions but it was replaced by China in 2008.
In 2000, there were about 32% of clothing exported by European Union, which was the highest compared to the remaining countries, while the figure for the USA stood at just over 10%. However, both two regions saw a slight fall in the next years, reaching at over 20% and 5%, respectively.
In the initial year, there were 30% total exports of clothing in Asia(without China), double the data of China (just under 15%). Nevertheless, Asia experienced a significant decrease one year later, which was the same level as China(17%). It then fluctuated marginally between over 15% and 20% from 2002 to 2014 and reached 20% in the final year. In contrast, the figure for China increased sharply over the period in question, overtaking the USA and reaching a peak at over 35% in 2014.
