Overall, the number of workers in Accountant occupations was more attractive in Australia. However, it saw a slight increase. That for the Cook and Software engineer occupations had a stable degree, while the highest number of workers was seen in the latter. Notably, as for the Computer programmer occupation, it was much lower.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the proportion of workers in the Accountant occupation who migrated to Australia accounted for 20,000 in 2009. Then, it reached its highest level at 29,000, while it remained the dominant category despite a downward trend. With regard to Software engineers, they were responsible for 19,000 in the first year. While it increased constantly until 2011, reaching a peak of 21,000. After that, it saw a noticeable decrease to 17,000 over the period.
In terms of other occupations, the number of skilled migrants to Australia in the Cook occupation leveled off at around 16,000 from 2009 to 2012. In terms of Computer programmers, it followed a similar pattern, fluctuating with lower numbers between 2,000 and 5,000.
