The bar graph illustrates the percentages of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for expenses in health sector for multiple countries in Europe for every five years between 2002 and 2012.
At first look, it is clear that most countries spend more than 6% of GDP on this sector, with only two countries, Estonia and Lithuania, spending less. The data also shows that Switzerland had the highest percentage of GDP expenditure, with approximately 11%. Estonia’s health expenditure has been consistent in all three years, with only 3%, as well as lowest in Europe. There were also other countries that did not show changes in their GDP expenses for health sector, such as Belgium, Spain and Switzerland.
On other hand, countries like Denmark, Lithuania, Norway and Slovenia reached the peak in 2012 after maintaining the same level for previous 10 years. While Netherlands was only country that showed consistent decrease over the recorded period, France displayed fluctuation.
