The bar chart shows the portion of New Zealander men and women who did regular physical exercise in 2008 across different age groups.
Overall, there were more women than men who exercised regularly in 2008 and physical activities were slightly more engaged by the middle age women in New Zealand.
To begin with, according to the bar chart, except the age group of 14 to 23, the rest of all age groups there were more women than men who had participated in physical activities. For example, at the age of 34 to 43 and 44 to 53, the percentage of women were significantly higher than that of men which the intervals of each were at 15% and 12%. Despite more men engaged in regular exercise at the age of 14 to 23, there was just a marginal difference of 5% between them.
In addition to that, by making reference to the graph, a myriad of women in New Zealand had done sports regulary at the age of 24 to 63. Among all these age groups, almost all of them had more than 50% of women had done physical activities. In contrast, for the female adolcents (age of 14 to 23) and elderlies (age of 64 or above), both recored marginally lower percentage at less than 50% of women doing sports regularly at that time.
