The chart illustrates the modes of transportation chosen by the young generation in the UK, US, France and Italy to commute in a single year.
Overall, cars were preferred by young people in most of the countries examined, except France. In addition, while bicycles were the most popular choice among French youths, this vehicle was less popular in the US.
73% of young Italians traveled by car, doubling that of France. The UK and US had the same percentage of youngsters favoring cars (60%). While the proportion of motorcycle preference was 30%, the figures for the three remaining countries were lower, at around 40%.
In most nations, bicycles were also pervasive, with the highest number in France at 47%, followed by 30% in the UK, almost 10% in the US and Italy.
