Overall, football was the most popular sport among boys, while netball and swimming were favored by girls.
In terms of football, 20% of boys took part in this sport, having the highest number among four activities, whereas there was approximately 4% of girls. In contrast, the percentage of girl in netball accounted for roughly 17%, which was nearly three times the figure for boy counterparts.
Concerning the remaining sports, about 16% of girls attended in swimming, which was around 3% higher than that of boys. A similar pattern was seen in the figures for pupils who do not participate in sports, which were 5% of girls and nearly 4% of boys. Conversely, the share of boys engaging in basketball made up roughly 8%, compared to about 7% of girls.
