The bar chart compares the proportions of Australian male and female students participating in four different sports after school in 2010. Overall, football was the most popular sport among boys, while netball was favored by girls. Other sports were attended in nearly equal amounts by both genders.
Boys participated the most in football, with an attendance rate of 20%, which is approximately five times higher than the rate for girls. In terms of netball, the majority of participants were female students, at around 17.5%, compared to just about 2.5% for boys.
Swimming had the highest attendance among all four sports, accounting for nearly 14% of male students and 16% of female students. Conversely, basketball showed lower participation rates, with around 7% of boys and 8% of girls involved.
Students who did not participate in any of these sports made up nearly 10% of all pupils, comprising 4% of boys and 5% of girls.
