The bar chart provides information about the changes in the proportion of employment opportunities associated with tourism sectors in a certain part on the UK over a decade.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that restaurants and hotels consistently contributed to the majority of job opportunities in all years, whereas sport and leisure alongside with travel and tours had the lowest share of the total count.
To begin, restaurants and hotels started the period with a relatively close numbers, accounting for 1100 and 1050 respectively. Restaurants followed an upward trend in the following years and reached its peak in 2004 at 1600 before experiencing a sharp decline. Job opportunities in hotels with sports and leisure both saw a sharp growth reaching their high point in 1994 with hotels experiencing the highest share of all time. However, this trend faces with a downturn and started decreasing moderately ending the period as second and fourth. As for the remaining category, sport and leisure continued fluctuating throughout the years and finished at 600 as the third highest figure.
