The given bar chart illustrates the percentage of people from different age groups who attended three types of Music Events (classical, opera and popular) in 2006 in Australia.
Overall the bar chart indicates that pop music was the most popular among younger age groups between 15-24. In contrast, opera attracted older audiences aged 55 and higher. The classical music had the lowest attendance across all age groups, making it the least popular genre overall.
The younger and middle aged groups (15-24, 25-34 and 35-44) were the most active in attending music concerts. The 15-24 age group had the highest percentage of attendance in pop music with around 36%. This trend continued the 25-34 aged group,but declined to around 26%. Opera music were significantly less popular among these younger(15-24 and 25-34) groups with 13% and 14%, and classical music also was 11% and 8%. In the 35-44 age group pop music was dominant too with around 37% and interests to opera and classical music increased to 25% and 11%.
Older age groups (45-54 and 55+) were less active attending in music concerts. The pop music was slightly declined in these ages to 13% and 5%. However, opera had become most popular in both age groups with 15%. The classical music remained the least attended across all age groups, with attendance at 10% in the 45-54 group and 8% in the 55+ group.
