The bar chart provides information about CO2 emissions by different modes of transportations in European Union and pie chart depicts funds spent on various transportation form. Data presented in percentage in pie chart and in Grams of CO2 per person per KM in bar graph. Overall, it is observed that Air pollution generates the maximum CO2.
According to the bar graph, airline generates highest amounts of Co2 of 380 grams in comparison to other modes of transportations. Second biggest Co2 generator is passenger cars with 130 grams , followed by buses with 60 grams. Rail and maritime generates 50 each and Coaches 40 Grams of Co2.
The pie chart illustrates that, 52% of the fund is being used for road infrastructure followed with 31% on railways and 10% on public transportation. Union spent 1% each on intermodal, airports and inland waterway. It spent 2% of funds on ports and unknown factor.
In conclusion, European union spent 97% of its funds on infrastructure of road, railway and public transportation to control pollution but the main culprit is airlines.
