The bar chart compares the percentage of three age brackets of Australian children who took part in four sorts of activities in 2012.
Overall, 12 to 16 years old children were mostly engaged in watching TV, reading books, and riding the bike, except for art. However, the other age brackets including 9 to 11 years old and 5 to 8 years old children’s engagement fluctuated in these four activities.
Looking at the details, the age groups of 12-16 years old children spent a lot of time by watching TV, which was nearly 100%. In addition, the other age brackets of 9 to 11 years old and 5 to 8 years old children comprised approximately 95% and 90%, respectively. The second activities was riding the bike, where 12-16 years old children accounted for 80%, and 5 to 8 years old children spent a lot of time to ride the bike than 9-11 years old with about 78%.
In terms of reading activities, 9 to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old children remained relatively stable at around 70%.
Children aged 5-8 years old children was 63%. The last activities was art, where 5-8 years old children spent their most of the time on drawing, which was at 60%, and the other ages were about 50% and 45%, respectively.
