The bar graph illustrates the proportion of people who attended in different age groups in three categories of musical events in the year 2006. Overall, the popular genre was the most favorite music show for people under 45, while older people preferred listening to opera. Noticeably, audiences below 45 years old had higher percentages of attendance than the older generations.
Regarding radio, the highest share of people attending popular music shows was the young generation, at 38%. The next highest rates were adults and middle-aged individuals, at 33% and 27%, respectively. Meanwhile, this music style was the least popular among older, citizens, at less than 13%.
In terms of opera concerts, one-fourth of people aged 35-44 went there to enjoy music, as opposed to 15% of those over 45 age cohort. Moreover, around 14% of people in the two youngest groups liked to partake in these shows.
Finally, 11% of audiences aged 15 to 24 and 35 to 44 listened to classical music events, while the figure for the older age range ( 45-54 years old) was slightly smaller, at 10%. Additionally, only 8% of young adults and the oldest age category participated in classical music shows.
