The graph depicts how European young people predict five areas of life to evolve over the next 20 years.
Overall, it is clear that the majority of participants do not have great hopes for development in the bulk of the indicated areas. Furthermore, air dominance is the most pressing issue, with the lowest score, whereas people communication is the only area that has the potential to improve.
Looking at the graph in further depth, it is clear that 77% of those polled anticipated to see a decline in air quality, which was more than three times the proportion who felt otherwise. Similarly, more than half of the polled youngsters expected the quality of health and water to deteriorate over the next 20 years, with 58% and 60%, respectively.
While the two aforementioned characteristics are on the upswing, all other sectors have lower-than-average expectations from Europe’s youthful population. These young people have comparable expectations for health and water quality, with around 40% supporting improvement. Meanwhile, air quality is the least optimistic element, with only 23% of young people polled believing it would improve in the future.
