Overall, the British Museum was the most prevalent destination for people most of the period, while the opposite trend was seen in the number of visitors who went to the National Museum throughout the period. Additionally, August generally was the month attracting the highest number of people visiting museums.
In June and July, the number of people who visited the History, British and Science Museum was quite similar and stable, hovering at 400,000 people. Meanwhile, the National Museum witnessed a far smaller number of visitors, with about 200.000 people during these two months. August recorded the steepest increase in the figure for the History, British and National Museum, at 400,000; over 700,000 and around 350,000 people respectively. By contrast, the number of visitors going to Science Museum remained unchanged, at 400,000 people.
After a month, there was an opposite trend in the figure for all four different museums. Specifically, whereas the History, British and National Museum saw a considerable decline, with roughly 400,000; under 600,000; and 200,000 visitors respectively, the remaining museum experienced a significant rise to approximately 500,000 people. In October, the figure for all museums, apart from the British Museum, fell to the lowest number over the period.
