The bar chart illlustrates how many people in New Zealand volunteered to support sports organizations in 2010, while the pie chart shows the proportion of them by household types.
Overall, the majority of New Zealanders who helped in sports organizations were coaches, instructors, and teachers, and the highest proportion of them were couples with dependent children. In contrast, medical support represented the lowest number of individuals. Moreover, households with one parent or a lone person made up the smallest share.
In 2010, about 206,000 of coaches, instructors, and teachers volunteered to sports businesses, which was the highest figure in the pie. This was followed by committee members and administrators at 158,600 which was around 20,000 higher than the number of scorers and timekeepers. Meanwhile, the least help was provided by medical support, reaching just over 62 thousands.
In terms of households, couples and dependent children accounted for almost half of the volunteers, at around 49.8%. While couples with no dependent children reached a substantial percentage of around 26.9%, the manority of individuals were one parents or had no family, showing only 10.9%. In addition, other households reached a noticeable share of 12.4%.
