The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of British people (men, women, and children) who consume five different types of fruit and vegetables daily between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, all individuals hit the bottom in the first year of the period, and slightly rose to its peak, then fell down at the end of the given time. Besides, women tended to have a higher percentage of fruit and vegetables consumption, followed by men and children.
To begin, children started the period at 12% of populations and remained stable until 2003, then it grew up to the highest percentage at 28% of people before it considerably declined. This trend was mirrored by men’s but in a higher proportion.
Moving to the percentage of women in the UK who ate fruit and vegetables, it started with just above 20% in 2001 and sharply increased to over 30% in 2006. After this year, it plateaued down to around 30% in the final year.
