The bar chart illustrates the proportion of academic staff in both genders in seven different facilities in one main university during the year 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the faculty of Engineering has the most male staff members in a university while its females are also in the final place compared to others. Moreover, most academic female members are in the faculty of Education.
To begin with, looking at male gender, the fraction of Engineering staff occupied a gigantic 85% followed by both Business and Science with a massive 62%. Law and Medicine represented 60% and 49% respectively; besides, Education came in last place with a nominal 25%. What is interesting to note is that male staff in Education were less than Medicine by approximately 2 times.
On the flip side, most females were in the facilities of Education and they accounted for an enormous 72% whilst Arts was seen around 58%. However, Engineering which had the highest in male staff had the smallest per cent of women, with a minuscule 18%. What is surprising to see is Education was more than Engineering by exactly 4 times.
