The pie chart illustrates the proportions of the world’s forests and timber in five countries: South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. It is surprising to note that Africa and North America have the highest percentage of the world’s forest and the portion of timber among these countries respectiely.
While Asia, accounts for 27%, ranks first when it comes to the proportion of forest, it has made up to 9% of timber, which comes the least in each region. The shares of North America constitutes 25% in the world’s forest whereas that has the largest proportion of timber, accounting for 30%. Europe, Asia and South America have similar percentages in both number of forest and timber.
In conclusion, Africa constitute the highest shares of the world’s forest whereas South America accounts for the most proportion of timber in these five countries.
