The graph depicts a comparison of the income sepent by families per week between 1968 and 2018.
Firstly the category which the families spent the major amount of their income is food for both of the years analized. Therefore, this category witnessed a remarkable decrease from about 35% of their income designated to food to less than 20%. Meanwhile, categories as well as housing and leisure, experienced a notable growth in 2018 compared to 1958, with an increase about three times more for each sector.
On the other hand, the families used to spend more in clothing and personal goods in 1958 than nowadays. Additionally, the families reduce their spend on fuels and power and increase exponentially their usage of transport. Finally, the sector designated for the household good remain stable.
In summary, we can conclude that currently families tend to spend more of their income in activities that involve leisure due to the well-being trends that the social media arise. Whereas, the population decrease the spend on apparel, power and personal goods.
