The bar graph illustrates how the values of Southland’s three main exports – international tourism, dairy products, and meat products – change between 2000 and the current year, and future projections for 2025.
Overall, it is clear that the value of international tourism has increased constantly since 2000 and will rise in 2015, while the demand of the meat products declined gradually and was predicted to continue. Dairy products show the significant growth between 2000 and the current year, and will remain as a large export category with slight decrease.
Looking at the bar graph in more detail, we can observe that international tourism was the largest export category at approximately £8 billion in 2000 and is anticipated to reach at about £10 billion in 2025. The value of dairy products recorded dramatic increase by roughly £3 billion, also there are possibility that slight reduction in 2025. Meat products was the smallest export category with £6 billion generated in 2000, and the value will keep dropping until 2025.
