The pie chart presents a comparative analysis of the household percentage of spending on various sectors of goods, namely food, clothing, medicine and household goods in China for 1995 and 2011.
Overall, it can be depicted that in both 1995 and 2011 the sector of food emerged as predominant percentage for costs spent on it from the total household budget. On the other hand, medicine remained the smallest sector in both 1995 and 2011 at four percent and 11 percent respectively.
Upon closer examination of the two pie charts, it becomes evident that in 1995 and 2011 the proportion of spending on clothing was almost the same with a mere one percent difference. Furthermore, it can be observed that both household goods and medicine occupied a higher proportion in 2011 than in 1995, where household goods had a mere jump of three percent while medicine had a substantial seven percent more. In addition to this, food occupied a greater sector in 1995 than 2011 by a considerable nine percent.
