Overall it is evident by looking at the bar graph that , In both years, people in the middle and older age groups donated more than younger people. While donation rates among younger groups fell in 2015, the percentage of older donors increased slightly.
In 2000, about 20% of people aged 18 to 24 gave to charities. However, this number dropped to around 11% in 2015. The 25 to 34 age group also saw a decrease, from about 29% in 2000 to 25% in 2015. The 35 to 49 group had the highest donation rate in 2000 at nearly 39%, but this declined to around 34% in 2015.
On the other hand, donations increased among older people. For those aged 50 to 64, the percentage rose from about 34% to 38%. Similarly, for people aged 65 and over, the rate increased from around 31% in 2000 to 34% in 2015. These groups became the most generous in 2015.
