The bar chart presents data on the percentage of Canadians in different age groups who donated to charitable organizations in 2000 and 2015.
Overall, older individuals consistently contributed more than younger ones in both years. While donation rates declined across most age groups in 2015, those aged 50 to 64 were the only group to experience an increase.
In 2000, people aged 35 to 49 had the highest proportion of donors, at nearly 40%. However, this fell to around 34% in 2015. Likewise, contributions from the 65+ age group dropped slightly from roughly 35% to just below that figure. The youngest category, 18 to 24, donated the least in both years, decreasing from approximately 17% to 11%.
By contrast, the 50 to 64 group was the only one to see growth, rising from 34% in 2000 to nearly 36% in 2015. Meanwhile, those aged 25 to 34 saw a modest decline from about 29% to 25%.
