The bar chart illustrates data about waste disposal practices such as biological treatment, landfill, burning, and recycling in European nations namely the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and the UK.
Overall, landfill outperforms in all the countries, except the UK. Furthermore, both burning and recycling are similarly interested in the UK.
In the Netherlands, Spain and Italy, landfill is the most popular method, at around 40%, whereas biological treatment is approximately 40% which is the highest in the UK. However, a quarter of the UK’s biological treatment percentage is practicing the same in the Netherlands, making it the leased, at 10%. Additionally, burning in the Netherlands is nearly double that of Italy, at roughly 15%.
Notably, the proportion of burning and recycling in the UK are relatively similar and five times higher than landfill (5%) which is the lowest. Although Italy has 10% contribution in recycling, rest of the countries outnumber it by about 10%.
