The pie charts compare the proportion of multiple types of energy generation in France in the years 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal and gas led in production during the 10-year period while petrol production saw its declining rate. Additionally, nuclear and other energy sources also experienced increases over the same period.
In 1995, coal generation was by far the highest proportion, comprising 29.80%, closely followed by production of gas, which accounted for 29.63%. In ten following years, the share of coal increased slightly to 30.93%, likewise, gas production rose marginally to 30.31%.
Petrol production’s rate was nearly 30% in 1995 while nuclear and other sources of energy made up under 10%. However, in 2005, the rate of petrol production gradually decreased to 19.55%, whereas nuclear power and remaining sources of energy increased steadily from 6.40% to 10.10% and from 4.9% to 9.10%, respectively.
