In general, it is evident that while the figure for football that was played by boys was higher than it which was played by girls, the reverse platforms could be observed in the remaining sports. Besides, boys and girls played football and netball the most respectively.
Regarding football, boys were interested in it since it is easy to play and popular with 20% of children having male gender that played and 4% of girls playing it. Moreover, it suggests more than 10 players took part, which leads to the figure for football being the highest for boys. Girls were prone to play netball the most, indicated by 18% and 2% of boys who played that sport.
In terms of swimming, in 2010, both boys and girls fancied it as it is popular in the whole world; therefore, the percentage of swimming of boys and girls was quite equal with 16% and 14% of children who have female and male gender respectively. The data on basketball witnessed a similar trend in girls tending to play than boys, indicated by 6% belonging to boys and more than 6% belonging to girls. In the same year, boys did not engage in any sports with 2% and the data on them is double the figure for girls in Australia.
