The line graph illustrates the changes in three different types of crime in Manchester city center over the period from 2003 to 2012.
Overall, it is evident that at the beginning of the time frame, burglary had the highest number of incidents, while robbery had the lowest.
In 2003, burglaries increased from approximately 3,400 incidents to approximately 3,600 in 2004. However, in 2004, the crime rate in Manchester city center sharply decreased from 3,600 incidents to 1,000 incidents. Nonetheless, in 2008, the crime rate increased again from 1,000 to 1,500 incidents and continued to fluctuate until 2012, ending with approximately 1,400 incidents.
Additionally, in 2003, car theft was the second largest crime, comprising around 2,800 incidents. After that, this figure slightly declined until 2006, stabilizing at approximately 2,000 incidents. However, as time passed, this amount increased again by nearly 2,600 incidents, reaching its peak.
Furthermore, robbery incidents were consistently lower than those of other crimes, remaining unchanged at approximately 600 incidents between 2003 and 2012
