The chart shows the number of people working in five sectors in one region in Australia in 2001 and 1008.
Overall, the number of people employed in almost all types of work increased slightly, except for accounting and farming. Notably, the most significant number of workers was in the sales sector in the two years.
Turning to the specifics, the number of people working in sales was about 150,000, a significantly high figure in 2001. Accounting ranked second in this category, accounting for around 70,000, which was nearly two times as low as that of sales. Computing and nursing had the same number of employed people at roughly 60,000. Farming was the least popular type of work, with only 30,000 people working in this field in 2001.
By 2008, the number of people employed in sales grew slowly, keeping its leading position at approximately 170,000. The same trend was the case in the number of people working in computing and nursing, with the former accounting for 80,000 and the latter comprising roughly 60,000. The only work sectors that experienced decreases were accounting and farming: the former fell to around 50,000, while the latter saw a 10,000 decrease, still becoming the lowest figure in the diagram.
